The Sitka International Cello Seminar, a distinctive three-week program for emerging professional cellists, is led by Grammy-winning cellist and Artistic Director of the Sitka Music Festival, Zuill Bailey. Participants have the opportunity to shape their experience by curating concerts and leading community engagement events, while also benefiting from traditional masterclasses and lessons.

This immersive experience is hosted at the newly renovated Miner Music Center at Stevenson Hall in Sitka, Alaska. The facility enables fellows to live alongside the faculty, surrounded by the stunning beauty of Southeast Alaska. Participants can enjoy hiking, fishing, eagle-watching, and even performing for bears (safely).

This highly selective seminar admits only eight participants each year. For this year, the $4,000 tuition, which includes room and board, will be fully covered by a fellowship for all eight fellows. Additionally, each fellow will receive a $1,000 stipend to assist with transportation to Sitka, though no further travel expenses can be covered. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 15 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Application decisions will be sent out the week of March 5, 2024.
